What is Forest Mulching?
- Forestry mulching uses cutting tools called "teeth" to break up small trees and vegetation into chips. Over time, these mulched chips decompose back into the earth and provide the soil with nutrients.
- Unlike many other forms of clearing, forestry mulching leaves the soil structure intact through moisture retention. This, in turn, protects the ground from erosion and reduces the risk of fire in dry areas.
- Due to the versatility of mulching machines, this form of clearing can be used in a variety of commercial and residential environments. These may include real estate and development, cutting and clearing underbrush, or reclaiming a back yard.
Proactive Land Treatment
Forestry mulching can also be performed proactively to prevent the growth of mold and invasive species of plants, as well as to reduce stress on trees in densely wooded areas.
